Introducing PakChan Packaging Channel, a new safety innovation from Telling Industries!
PakChan replaces the traditional wooden packaging channel typically used for shipping metal framing. It features roll formed and hemmed edges with swedged ends to prevent cuts and abrasions while loading.
The benefits include improved shipping stability and tighter banding which reduces shifting during transit. PakChan has improved strength and durability and won’t split or crack like wooden packaging channel can.
PakChan is patent pending and is currently being used in Telling’s Cambridge, OH plant. It will soon be rolled out in the Osceola, AR and the Windsor, CT plants as well.

Telling Industries State of the Union – New President, Fresh Vision, Strong Future
Chuck Haba, Telling Industries’ new president, is poised to lead the metal framing company with a fresh vision gleaned from a 20+ year background in manufacturing, engineering and business.
Chuck’s leadership background is with several multi-billion $ companies, most recently, with Overhead Door/Wayne Dalton, the market leading $1 billion supplier of garage doors and building access systems.
“I am excited to join the Telling team to build upon the excellent quality & service reputation with world class manufacturing, new products, and a focus on exceeding current & future customer needs!” says Chuck Haba.
Chuck has a wealth of industry knowledge and product development experience to draw from to benefit Telling Industries.
TELLING Industries is American owned and operated. The TELLING Industries family is approximately 160 individuals strong; all dedicated to providing the highest quality metal framing solutions and products with outstanding service to our customers.
TELLING ® Industries began manufacturing metal framing with a deep passion and understanding of construction and the steel industry. We started manufacturing and shipping metal framing in October 2004 with the opening of our first location in Cambridge, OH. The Cambridge, OH facility is 205,000 square feet and currently has capacity to manufacture 35,000 tons of steel framing annually and employs a talented staff of 80. Telling’s metal framing products and quality of service, quickly gained market acceptance, resulting in plans for further expansion in 2006 to meet customer demands in the southern regions of the U.S.
Only two years from shipping our first pound of metal from the Cambridge, OH facility, Telling announced the opening of the Osceola, Arkansas location. The Osceola location is 86,000 square feet, has capacity to manufacture 30,000 tons of steel framing annually and employs a talented staff of 65.
In November 2008 Telling added a newly constructed third manufacturing facility, in Kingman, Arizona. This manufacturing plant served the west coast for 6 years but due to changes in the market the decision was made to reallocate equipment to a new location in Windsor, Connecticut, an 84,000-square foot facility.
Then, early morning, December 26th, 2015 disaster struck. The Telling Osceola, Arkansas plant suffered substantial damage from a tornado. In the wake of this disaster, all operations at the Arkansas plant were forced to stop, leaving only the Cambridge production facility able to fulfill the orders for both plants for over 3 months.
17 Osceola employees were tasked with traveling to Cambridge, Ohio to help shoulder the load that had been placed on the single facility. Despite the challenges, the Telling production team continued to meet all the demands placed on them with minimal disruption.
Today, all 3 plants in Cambridge, OH, Osceola, AR and Windsor, CT are up and running under the leadership of Chuck Haba. Telling is reinvesting in our management team, equipment and is working to expand our product lines to better serve our customers.
The capable Telling sales team includes high caliber people all with distributor relationship experience. We have revamped our inside and outside sales team by expanding our staff and elevating our best sales people to higher management roles. Collectively, the Telling sales team has a vast amount of experience within distribution networks which helps us better serve our distribution partners.
We have hired capable people to help launch new product lines and have streamlined our manufacturing processes to be strong and lean.
Our talented and dedicated plant managers all were promoted internally from assistant plant manager roles. By doing this Telling retains industry and manufacturing knowledge and keeps our manufacturing processes strong while eliminating the transitional training period of a new hire.
Telling Industries is looking to take our service and quality standards to the next level by increasing quality checks at each customer delivery. Our priority is on-time delivery with a quality product that exceeds our customers’ expectations. Telling has an experienced team of professional delivery drivers that are willing to go above and beyond to meet our customers’ needs. We will continue to strive for Delivered Quality perfection to raise the bar on the industry standards.
Telling Industries will be expanding its product line extensively to meet daily customer demands, to become a one-stop-shop and to continue to be a pioneer in the metal framing industry. We’re excited to provide effective solutions and value-added services to our customers. We are investing now significant dollars in new capital equipment to launch some exciting new R & D products in 2018. In addition, we are investing in current equipment to improve quality and production efficiency.
Our mission is to build strong customer relationships, through reliability, manufacturing the finest quality metal framing available, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a solid foundation for our customers and our employees to grow on.
2016 was a challenging year for Telling as many obstacles including a tornado, delayed opening of our Windsor factory and the stepping down of our long-time president. We are coming back with vigor under new president, Chuck Haba, a strong sales team, new products and better service. Telling’s small size makes us nimble enough to be super responsive to our customer and the market needs. We are ready to move forward and continue to BUILDSTRONG!
